Mark also orchestrates the content team as a whole and with his well established core group of experts formulates and writes the annual budget and pre budget reports.
He is indeed a man that many know and respect, and has set the path for marketing and client service approaches within the UK accounting industry for the last 20 years.
Rebecca Benneyworth
Rebecca brings a special contribution to the style, presentation and subject matter of the content on your PracticeWEB site.
An experienced and highly respected tax writer – she is an important technical resource for our budget team and also writes for your clients, referrals and prospects through her enlightening and informative articles in the monthly newswires

Ian works on all of our sites on a daily basis ensuring that topical, relevant, and informative stories are available to view and is the hub of production for the emailed newswires that can be sent by PracticeWEB to your clients and prospects on a weekly basis.
Ian has a long career as a business journalist and writer and is a valued core member of our content team.
Robert Outram, Editor CA Magazine
Robert Outram worked in local government and as a trainee Chartered Accountant in the 1980s before embarking on a career in journalism.
He was a staff writer on Career Accountant magazine, before joining Accountancy Age, the leading news weekly for the accountancy profession. He became Editor of Accountancy Age's sister title Management Consultancy, and then in 1992, Editor of Accountancy Age itself. In 1995 he left to work as a freelance journalist and editorial consultant. He edited Communicating Solutions, an award-winning quarterly magazine for Cable & Wireless Communications, and Internal Auditing, the journal of the Institute of Internal Auditors, as well as writing for a variety of business and finance publications. During 1998 he was Contributing News Editor for Accounting & Business, the relaunched magazine of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
In September 1998 he relocated to Edinburgh to edit CA Magazine, the journal of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. He oversaw the redesign of CA Magazine in October 1999, as well as helping to set up “CA Plus”, CA Magazine’s customer publishing business.
When the production of CA Magazine was outsourced to Connect Communications in September 2006, Robert transferred to the company. He played a key role in the magazine’s redesign (October 2007), which won the Redesign of the Year in the Communicators in Business (CiB) Scotland awards and was shortlisted, with an Award of Excellence, in the CiB UK awards.
In April 2008 CA Magazine launched a dedicated website, www.camagonline.co.uk, for which Robert writes a regular blog.
Qualifications: Philosophy, Politics & Economics BA Hons (St Catherine’s College, Oxford); Diploma in Management Studies, London Guildhall University.
Mark Cripps
Mark is a small business personal and business tax practitioner, author and consultant. He has a first class honours degree in Economics, acquired before qualifying in 1979 as a chartered accountant with Barnes Roffe. Subsequently he worked for three years with Ernst & Young, five with Longcrofts and six with Pannell Kerr Forster, all these employments predominantly in tax, including corporate, investigations and tax planning.
Mark joined CLB as a corporation tax consultant in 1993, where he first met Mark Lloydbottom and his Tax Cards and Budget Circulars. Since then Mark has been a key member of the team with a keen eye for detail. He left CLB in 1998 to enjoy traveling the globe and studying tax regimes around the world. When not deep in the bowels of tax legislation Mark enjoys golf and cricket, and has been known to follow the England team to New Zealand and Australia. However, he denies being part of the barmy army! Since 1998 he has been a Chartered Tax Adviser with his own tax consultancy practice He is a well know technical author for PracticeWEB and has also authored chapters for publishers such as Tolleys.
Mark is a key member of our Pre Budget and Budget night teams.
