Landscape will soon work with your back office systems

Throughout 2011 much of the focus for the technical development team in PracticeWEB (our Landscape Team) has been about preparing the platform so that your site can integrate with back office systems. These Integrations are managed through an API (Application Programming Interface) which is now ready to be released in January 2012.

Along with the significant upgrades to the Usersets  (the data base on your site that manages the users) and the Secure Document Exchange (SDE), websites on Landscape will now work with Practice Management Systems and Document Management Systems.

The API has been developed in conjunction with Invu and Chameleon I.T. Invu are the supplier of choice for document management in the accountancy sector, and also the company behind Iris OpenDocs.

Chameleon I.T, headed by Richard Burdall (a former Viztopia project manager), are specialists in ensuring firms get the most out of their practice management software with a particular focus on CCH Central.

Together we've been working towards a solution which will streamline workflow, extend the functionality of your existing systems, leverage your data, and provide an incredible service to your clients.

From within Invu, you will be able to publish documents for your clients directly into the SDE and pull down new and updated documents uploaded by your clients.

So without leaving a familiar internal system you can make use of the security, flexibility and notification system of the SDE, greatly enhancing an already valuable client service.

Users of CCH Central will be able to synchronise their practice management system and website databases by passing standing data to the website and pull (and choose to accept) any changes made by users back down to the firms internal system.

Imagine how quickly you could send a targeted communication out from your website if your users and distribution lists in Landscape can be segmented based on any data you hold in your practice management system already. No more passing round spread sheets from partner to partner, and the data is always up-to-date and ready to be used.

We're all very excited about working on this unique offering, as integrating systems such as these will allow us to develop a truly compelling portal offering for all your clients.
