Autumn Budget 2021: How to use your report

by | Oct 25, 2021 | Content

Hundreds of accountancy practices around the UK will be opening their inboxes on 28 October to find our Autumn Budget 2021 report – the cornerstone of our branded content for accountants.

If they’ve bought our branded Budget explainer video, they’ll also receive a link to this from their account manager.

The report will contain the key changes from the day – as well as technical changes hidden away in the small print – all summed up in a clear and readable format for your firm’s clients.

What will I get?

Anyone who has purchased our Budget report content, either as part of their content subscription or as a one-off product, will receive three versions of the report via email: a ‘digital’ PDF, a ‘professional’ PDF, and a Word document.

If you have a PracticeWeb website with our newsfeed and newsletter included, you’ll also see live Budget coverage in your news section on the day, which will be delivered to your clients by email.

On top of this, you’ll get a video summary of the Budget’s key announcements, which you can share on your website or social media channels. If you’ve purchased a branded video, your account manager will be in touch with a link to your unique version.

Our clients often have the same questions in common: what’s the difference between the three versions of the report? And how should they be used?

Using the professional version

Do you want to print out your fully-branded report to impress clients or prospects who visit your office, or simply present it to stakeholders?

This version is designed to be taken to a professional printer who will be able to provide you with a high-resolution document.

We have supplied the bleed marks so the printer can crop your report to size and provide a polished finish.

Using the digital version

Most of our clients have a website and with that comes the facility to display their Autumn Budget 2021 report online.

You can use this branded PDF to print out on an office or home printer, send as an email attachment, or upload to your Horizon website

Using the Word document

It’s important to remember your Autumn Budget 2021 report is white-label content and that means there are steps to take if you intend to publish the contents of the unedited Word doc on your site.

If you copy your Autumn Budget 2021 Word doc and paste into the back end of your website without editing it first, ensure it is no-indexed before publishing it.

The other option is to repurpose and rewrite our report for distribution to your clients. If you have the time, this is usually the best approach.

Repurposing is ideal if you have customers in niche sectors and you want to provide succinct, accurate information that’s most relevant to them.

For example, add quotes from your own partners, or include references to the sectors or regions on which your firm focuses.

Using the video

Your video will come in two formats – widescreen (16:9), which is best for most websites, and square (1:1), which works well for social media sharing.

The link provided will take you to a page on Vimeo, where you can preview the video:

If you want to share this on social media, click on the download icon in the bottom right corner. You should see a selection like this:

In most cases, ‘HD 1080p’ is your best option for uploading to social media. You can then go to your social media platform of choice, create a new post, and select your video to share it.

To add the video to your Horizon website, log into the back end of your site and edit the page you want to add the video to.

Click on Add Media, then click ‘Insert from URL’. Copy and paste the link to your video into the link field. Make sure you include the HTTPS, and that you’re not including the HTTP that’s already in the link field (e.g. https://www.vimeo.com/).

You will know it’s worked when a preview of that video is displayed in the whitespace underneath. Once you’re happy, click ‘Insert into post’ to add the video.
