Logging in as an admin
On your website, there is no dedicated button that allows you to login. To login instead, at the top of your web browser you will see your website address. Click into it and you just need to add the following to the end of the website address: /wp-admin. For example: www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.
Press enter and this will then take you to the login screen as shown below, where you enter your username and password. These should have been provided to you when your new site was launched. Then select ‘Log in’.
You will be taken to the website dashboard admin by default. From here, you can manage specific content on your website. We will cover in other dedicated guides.
Changing your password
If you have been provided a temporary password, once you login you can change this. We do recommend you change your password to something only you know.
Within your website’s dashboard, in the top-right you should see a link that displays your username. Upon hovering over this, there will be an option to ‘edit profile’ so select that.
This will take you to your account page. A lot of the fields will already bet set and therefore cannot be changed. However, scroll down and you will see a section for ‘Account Management’ where you can change your password.
Click ‘set new password’ and this will show a field with a pre-populated random password. You can use this but if not, set your own by simply entering this. Make a mental note of this and remember to click the ‘update profile’ button near the bottom to apply changes.
The next time you want to login you will need to use the new password you just set.
Forgotten your login details?
Alternatively, If you’ve forgotten your password entirely, get to the admin login page and click the ‘lost your password’ link. Instructions will be sent to your email and follow these to set up a temporary password.
