Job Title: Digital designer (midweight)

Job Function: Design
Location: Bristol (working from home during restrictions)
Hours: Full time
Salary: £23,000 – £27,000 depending on experience

This role is a chance for the right person to bring their website design passion, skills and creative solutions to our clients.

A typical week in the digital designer role will involve designing websites for new clients and completing redesign projects for existing clients on our new WordPress based platform.

You’ll be interpreting briefs, coming up with design concepts, presenting your proposals to clients, responding to feedback and building the websites through to completion.

You’ll be encouraged to support the other designers in exploring ideas for their own projects, and to collaborate with project managers to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.

This role will also allow you to get involved in other creative services such as logo, brand and print design.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Minimum 3 years’ design experience in a digital agency or freelancing equivalent
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, XD and InDesign
  • Experience of building WordPress websites
  • Working knowledge of web best practices, such as UX, UI and accessibility
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Strong team player

Additional helpful qualities, skills and experience

  • Experience working with Divi visual builder would be a strong advantage
  • Experience working in creative delivery for professional services clients

This role is a chance for the right person to bring their passion for organising, planning and technology to our clients.

A typical week in the project coordinator role will involve project scheduling, liaising with clients to prepare project requirements and related documentation, completing project administration and reporting, and getting websites ready for final launch.

You’ll be working with the wider production team to schedule the project traffic in and out of production, you’ll also be helping to get stuck projects moving again.

This is a great role to give you exposure to how a digital agency works. This position will help you develop your administrative, client management and technical skill sets.

It’s a great opportunity if you’re interested in a career in a digital technology field,  as a project manager, in a project management office, or in a business operations role.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Educated to degree level and/or relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication skills – you can adjust your register and style according to your audience and you are good at influencing people
  • Strong time management and organisational skills – you’ll probably love ticking things off your neatly colour coded list
  • Strong team player – you enjoy collaborating and care about your contribution to shared goals
  • Exceptional attention to detail – you’ve probably spotted the grammatical errors in this job ad
  • Curiosity about all things technical – you learn best by doing, and enjoy exploring and optimising new technologies 
  • Solution focused – you’re always looking for ways to improve, happy to experiment and willing to change direction when necessary
