What is Google Tag Manager and what does it do?

by | Nov 9, 2023 | Google Analytics, Help Centre Getting Started

Google Tag Manager allows us to implement some conversion tracking on specific events and actions, such as:

  • Clicks for Email: Monitoring how many visitors click on email links to contact you directly.
  • Clicks for Phone: Tracking user engagement with phone number links to measure phone enquiries.
  • Form submission: Measuring the success of your contact forms or lead generation forms.
  • Number of downloads: Monitoring how many visitors download files or other resources on your website.

By setting up these event tracking codes through Google Tag Manager, you can gain valuable insights into user behavior. This can help you make data-driven decisions that allow you to optimise your website for better conversions and user engagement.
